Inline Street Prelims Recap
By Mike Opalek

I have to pee so I'll be as quick as I can. Like I mentioned before in my Vert recap: location, location, location. The problem with location is sometimes you don’t get the room you need. So the street course wasn't as big as it has been, but the skating was huge!

It was a tough course to skate and many had a difficult time keeping momentum throughout their runs. Oli Short definitely had the most creative run. The most conventional trick he did was a 720 over the box, and he then went on to find the most obscure lines on the course.

Stephan De Freitas stomped a massive 540 and didn't stop there: a disaster royale down the ledge and then a backslide to alley oop porn star down the rail. His run was really well thought out and earned him a 5th place finish.

Berlin gold medalist, Switzerland's Nicolas Schopfer has been skating amazing all summer long. He started with a fakie 720 then went on to land a 270 backside royale on the ledge box and frontside farfergnugen down the rail. Nicolas was 4th.

The top 3 were tres close. Mathias Silhan rocked it with banging 540s and an alley oop acid soul 360 out. Patrick Sutnen had a very high energy run with lot of aerials that included a flatspin 540 on the quarter pipe and flip tricks and a few transfers. He also landed a backside farfergnugen for fun.

But it was the American, 2005 LG Action Sports World Champion, Chris Haffey, who came out and stole the show in his second run. A 900 over the launch box then went on to true mizou down the rail and a disaster soul down the rail box. He had the most consistent run with the best variety of tricks. We are looking forward to the finals tomorrow when we will see if Chris Haffey can take the gold.

Good night and good luck. I'm off to the porta potty!
